PRAYER OF FAITH

God is my help in every need;
God does my every hunger feed;
God walks beside me, guides my way
Through every moment of the day.

I now am wise, I now am true,
Patient, kind, and loving too.
All things I am, can do, and be
Through Christ, the Truth that is in me.

God is my health, I can't be sick;
God is my strength, unfailing, quick;
God is my all; I know no fear,
Since God and love and Truth are here.

A PASTOR WITH GUTS!!

I received this prayer in an email today and it really touched my heart. The words are so true! It was given by a minister in Kansas at the opening session of the Kansas senate. Instead of the general prayer they usually receive, Reverend Joe Wright delivered this awesome prayer. I hope that you receive the same blessing from it as I did!

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.

We have abused power and called it politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!'

This pastor truly has courage to get up in front of the senate and pray these words! Lord, help us all to have the courage to stand up for what we know is right and for what You want us to do!

DO ALL THAT YOU DO FOR HIS GLORY IN 2008

Wow! It is 2008 - hard to believe! Another year gone by! My 2008 started off great. I went to the party and met some wonderful people and had a great time! So glad I went!

Now it is time to make my New Year's resolutions! I actually started last night - one of my resolutions is to listen more closely to what God is telling me and to obey what He is telling me. He had been telling me to go to this group and I had said on several occasions that I was going to go, but then I backed out. I found out last night that they had been praying for me to come. That made me feel so good, that they cared enough about me before they even met me, to pray for me! I am so glad that I finally listened to God and did what He was telling me to do!

There are so many other resolutions that I hope to keep this year - the typical lose weight, exercise more, etc. But more important are the ones like be kinder to others, make sure everyone I love knows how much I love them every day, spend more time in prayer and really listen to what God is saying to me (not just what I have to say to Him!), share Christ more with others, and I have promised myself (and God!) to read the Bible in its entirety this year! (I did start today!).

Whatever your resolutions are, do all that you do in 2008 for the glory of God!

"In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16

20 ONE-LINERS OF GOD'S TRUTH

1. Give God what's right...not what's left!

2. Man's way leads to a hopeless end. God's way leads to endless hope.

3. A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing.

4. He who kneels before God can stand before anyone.

5. Don't put a question mark where God puts a period.

6. When praying, don't give God instructions - just report for duty.

7. Don't wait for six strong men to take you to church!

8. We don't change God's message. His message changes us!

9. WARNING: Exposure to the SON may prevent burning.

10. Plan ahead...it wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.

11. Most people want to serve God, but only in an advisory position.

12. Suffering from Tooth Decay? Brush up on your Bible.

13. Exercise daily...walk with the Lord.

14. Nothing else ruins the truth like stretching it.

15. He who angers you controls you.

16. Worry is the darkroom where negatives can develop.

17. Be ye fishers of men...you catch them and He'll clean them.

18. God doesn't call the qualified...He qualifies the called.

19. The church is prayer conditioned.

20. Read the Bible...it will scare the hell out of you!!

----Shared by Elliott Powell

These are all thought provoking sayings - some are funny, some are serious, all are true statements about God, our relationship with Him, and how He wants us to live.

Lord, let us remember to exercise daily and walk with you, let us remember that You are always there for us and we don't need that darkroom where negatives develop, help us to share Your Word with others and be good fisherman, let us go to you in prayer daily but remember You are in control!

"I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ." Philemon 6

START EACH DAY WITH PRAYER

I got up one morning and rushed right into the day
I had so much to accomplish that I didn't take time to pray.
Problems just tumbling about me, and heavier came each task.
"Why doesn't God help me," I wondered. He answered, "You didn't ask."

I wanted to see joy and beauty but the day tolled on, grey and bleak.
I wondered why God didn't show me. He said, "But you didn't seek."
I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided, "My child, you didn't knock."

I woke up early this morning and paused before entering the day.
I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray.

I don't know about you, but there are days that I just crawl out of bed without giving God a second thought. I don't thank Him for another day, for getting me through the night, or ask his blessings on the new day. And I have to admit on the days that I do neglect to pray to God, my days certainly don't go quite as well! The burdens seem heavier, the tasks greater, the direction harder to find.

Let's all try to remember to start our day with prayers of praise and thanksgiving and direction. Our days will certainly be blessed!

"My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the earth learn righteousness." Isaiah 26:9
